Optus announced today the launch of MobMusic a new downloadable music application available exclusively to Optus mobile customers.
MobMusic will transform the mobile handset into an easy to use mobile music player by offering customers the choice of unlimited music downloads or a music discovery pass.
Customers will have access to an array of artists from some of the world's top record labels including Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music and Warner Music Group giving customers instant access to hundreds of thousands of music tracks covering a variety of music genres and eras plus new releases.
Anthony Hearne, Acting Marketing Director, Optus Consumer said, "As mobile phones become faster and smarter, our customers are demanding more choice and more tailored content. Optus has seen customers become more confident when using the mobile internet and mobile applications.
"Our customers are increasingly turning to their mobile as a form of entertainment and music is always high on the list of customer demands.
"MobMusic has been designed to adapt music content for mobile devices offering a simpler music player and a better customer experience. It can be tailored to individual tastes and is a logical extension to the vast range of content services we already offer," said Mr Hearne.
This new service is powered by OnMobile's new innovative multimodal technology.
