OPTUS SMB GETS HANDS ON

28 May 2008

Optus Small and Medium Business (SMB) this week opened its first Business Solutions Centre. The centre is located in Alexandria, Sydney and is designed to showcase SMB's full suite of tailored products and services and to allow business owners to get a hands on experience.

The impressive line up of products on show and available for demonstration includes; the latest in mobile handsets, Optus Wireless Broadband, a range of Microsoft and BlackBerry powered solutions, Alcatel IPL PBX systems and Mint Wireless payment devices to name a few.

David Katz, Optus SMB Sales Director, said "Optus was one of the first major telcos in Australia to identify the need to develop a dedicated Small and Medium Business division in April 2005 to address the communication needs of Australia's SMB market and this is still a key focus today.

"Optus SMB specialises in offering corporate solutions to small businesses, including affordable IP voice technology, wireless, mobile and internet solutions enabling SMB's to redefine their business processes for greater efficiency and market differentiation.

"This new Business Solutions Centre is in conjunction with our strategic channel partner, Challengerone. The centre will allow our customers to experience live demonstrations and the ways in which these products can help to connect their business, manage customer relationships, increase mobility, manage the office with better communications solutions and protect business information.

"Optus SMB is committed to delivering our customers true end-to-end solutions that support their reasons for being in business and this new centre will allow our customers to see this first hand.

"And with our recent network announcement, that Optus will be expanding its nationwide mobile network to reach 98 per cent population coverage by December 2009, even more SMB customers around the country will have access to our mobile and wireless solutions," Mr Katz said.

Optus SMB's Business Solutions Centre is located at 128 Botany Road, Alexandria, Sydney and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

This location was chosen due to its close proximity to a large number of small and medium business customers located in the surrounding suburbs of the CBD. Botany Road, Alexandria is a main arterial in and out of Sydney's CBD, providing convenient access for customers.
