Optus announced today a further enhancement to its network coverage in New South Wales (NSW) with the installation of a new mobile facility at Bobs Farm in the Port Stephens region of NSW.
Warren Hardy, Acting Managing Director Optus Consumer said, "The new site will enhance Optus GSM network coverage for the people of Bobs Farm and visitors to the area.
"This new site also significantly improves coverage along Nelson Bay Road - an area highlighted as requiring additional mobile network coverage.
"The new mobile facility at Bobs Farm, together with new sites planned for Fingal Bay and Corlette and an upgrade to the Williamtown site will allow local residents and rural businesses to communicate more effectively, making it easier to talk while on the go," Mr Hardy said.
"Optus is focused on enhancing its GSM network in NSW and in particular, Port Stephens. To date, Optus has invested more than $536 million to roll out 1,534 mobile base stations across NSW, providing network coverage to 97 percent of the state's population."
Richard Goodall, Mobile Phone Service Centre in Port Stephens, said, "These new sites complement the existing sites at Soldiers Point, Gan Gan, Shoal Bay, Salt Ash, Anna Bay, Mallabula, Lemon Tree Passage and Medowie, providing Optus users exceptionally good coverage right across Port Stephens.
"It's a clear choice - if you demand great coverage in the area then Optus is the network you need to rely on," Mr Goodall said.
