OPTUS IMPROVES MOBILE COVERAGE IN CORRYONG
16 February 2004, 09:00 AM
Optus has significantly improved mobile coverage in Corryong following the installation of a new mobile tower in the town.
Rob Parcell, Director Victoria, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.
"Corryong has benefited from Optus' $90 million dollar investment in Victoria over the past year. The objective of the new site in Corryong is to provide maximum coverage to the township, and major roadways like the Murray Valley Highway.
"We are confident people living, working and travelling in 'The Home of the Man from Snowy River' will now enjoy good signal levels in the area, which is why we are offering a 14 day Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee," Mr Parcell said.
Optus World Albury manager, Colin Hoffman, said the Corryong site would complement recent new coverage in Albury North, Chiltern, Corobimilla, Finley, Jerilderie, Stathmerton, Tocumwal, Tumburamba, Warragoon, and along the Hume Highway between Albury and Melbourne.
"Optus has continued to listen to customer feedback to enhance its coverage, and plans to review and upgrade existing sites in the region, including its Corowa site.
"Optus also plans to build new sites in South Wodonga, Tallangatta, and Yackandandah over the next 12 months.
"People living, working and travelling in Corryong now have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Hoffman said.
