Optus has significantly improved mobile coverage in Ballarat following the installation of a new mobile tower on Mount Helen. Rob Parcell, Director Victoria, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.
"Ballarat is Victoria's second largest regional centre, and Optus continues to expand mobile coverage in the area. The objective of this new site in Mount Helen is to provide maximum coverage to the southern parts of Ballarat, including the Ballarat University campus.
"We are confident mobile customers should now enjoy good signal levels in the area, which is why we are offering a 14 day Coverage Satisfaction Guarantee," Mr Parcell said. Local Optus dealer, Robert Bell of Ballarat Communications, said the Mount Helen site would complement recent new coverage in Gordon, Dayelsford, Linton, Skipton, and Mount Franklin.
"Optus has worked hard to improve mobile coverage in the Victorian region over the last 12 months and has plans to build new sites in Ballarat East, Ballarat West, and Sebastapol over the next few months.
"People living, studying, working and travelling in the Ballarat region will have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Bell said.
