OPTUS IMPROVES MOBILE COVERAGE TO TUMBARUMBA - WAGGA WAGGA

Optus has expanded its mobile coverage in the Southern NSW Riverina, with a new site providing Optus mobile services to the important agricultural township of Tumbarumba and surrounds.

Mr Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus is committed to enhancing and extending mobile coverage within the Southern NSW / Riverina region, and providing increased competition in regional NSW.

"We are very pleased to now be providing coverage to the township of Tumbarumba and its surroundings, including the major roads heading out of town."

"This latest site adds to the list of towns to which we have recently provided coverage in the Riverina and Southern NSW which includes Tocumwal, Finley, Jerilderie, Corobimilla, Warragoon and Albury North."

"Optus plans to continue to improve its coverage in this region, with sites underway to provide coverage in Corryong and Galore."

Chris Horne, of Optus World, Wagga Wagga, said the coverage at Tumbarumba was important for tourism in the area.

"Tumbarumba's proximity to the Snowy Mountains and old-world style makes it a popular destination for visitors, so the improved coverage will be convenient not just for local Optus users, but out of town visitors as well."
