Optus is providing improved coverage to Coffs Harbour with new mobile base stations in the CBD and Mid Sapphire impacting the northern suburbs and the Pacific Highway when heading towards Woolgoolga.

Chad Robertson owner of Network Communications and Optus representative in Coffs Harbour, said the new site in the CBD provides better coverage to the city centre and that local businesses will notice the improvement inside their offices.

"Coffs Harbour is a popular coastal destination. The increased coverage will be enjoyed by the locals as wells as visitors to Coffs Harbour over the Easter break.

"Optus understands the importance of good telecommunications for regional communities such as ours. It is 'raising the bar' and has plans for new mobile stations in Sawtell and Dorrigo," Mr Robertson said.

Last year Optus installed and upgraded more than 100 mobile base stations in NSW improving coverage in many regional areas.

With more than four million mobile customers, a third of the nation's mobile users are on the Optus mobile network.
