NEW SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MANAGER FOR OPTUS

Optus today announced that Harvey Marcus had been appointed to lead the company in South Australia.

Mr Marcus, formerly Sales Manager for Optus Business in Sydney, has been with Optus since its inception in 1992.

John Simon, Director of Optus Business said, Mr Marcus brought a great wealth of telecommunications experience to South Australia.

"To date, Harvey has been responsible for a number of key wins within Optus Business and will now manage our South Australian operations," Mr Simon said.

"Optus recognises the potential of the South Australian market and with Harvey's management and sales experience from the past 20 years he will drive Optus Business' growth strategies in delivering innovative customer solutions.

"Optus has a full suite of innovative products and services such as Voice over DSL, Optus Private Internet and regional data networks such as ConnectPlus which can assist South Australian organisations maximise their core business."

Prior to working for Optus, Mr Marcus held several management positions in the UK with Siemens. In 1990 he moved from the UK to the head office of Siemens in Melbourne where he held of the position of National Sales Manager.

Mr Marcus has an Honours Degree in Social Sciences from the University of East Anglia. He begins his new role on 1 April 2003.
