Optus gets behind Bullying No Way week with virtual education event and Chaz Mostert

Optus is proud to back important education for kids over Bullying No Way Week in 2026. Bullying and cyberbullying are harmful behaviours that we need to educate our kids, parents and leaders on, and that's why Optus' Award-winning Digital Thumbprint program is hosting a Virtual National Event on August 19 for students in years 3-6.

Cyberbullying is an extremely important topic to cover in Australia. According to eSafety, more than one in two children have been cyberbullied. About 75% of children that responded to eSafety's research said they had been cyberbullied by someone that they know in real life, and 32% of children said the person responsible for their most recent cyberbullying experience had targeted them in the same or a similar way more than once.

It has real impacts on our children. Cyberbullying can feel distressing and overwhelming, triggering a range of emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety and sadness. While some children and young people may experience these feelings for a short time, others may experience longer-term impacts.

We all have a responsibility to help our kids feel safe, and that's why Optus is supporting Bullying No Way week with an education livestream.

Digital Thumbprint's Bullying No Way livestream will cover a wide range of really important topics, including what cyberbullying actually means, what it really looks like (and how kids can spot it), why cyberbullying is so serious, what to do when you or someone you know is being cyberbullied, being respectful online, and how building up little online habits can have a big impact.

Supercars star Chaz Mostert, who drives the No. 1 Mobil 1 Optus Racing Toyota GR Supra, will also be joining the event, and will be talking about his personal experiences of bullying and insights in an appropriate format for kids.

We want kids to feel safe wherever they are, whether that's in the real world or when they're online. We want to help parents and schools on important topics such as cyberbullying, and that's why our Digital Thumbprint program is hosting this event.
