New Features in the Pixel 6 phones

2021 sees some new and exciting features from Google, with the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro available for sale from 28th October in Australia.
There’s been quite a bit of buzz around the new Google Pixel 6 Phones for a while, with a lot of speculation about what Google will be doing to make a splash with this generation. And from what we know, they’ve brought their a-game, with their own processor plus a bunch of bells and whistles attached to make your life easier and – the big kahuna – a main camera sensor that captures 150% more light than the Pixel 5 – so it’s easier to take that perfect shot in lots of different environments.
So what are the new features in the Pixel 6 family compared to the Pixel 5?
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the completely reimagined Google phones. Powered by Tensor, Google’s first-ever processor, they’re fast, smart and secure. And they adapt to you.
Tensor unlocks a bunch of helpful machine learning-based features around computational photography (tech that helps you tweak your photography digitally), like Motion Mode and Face Unblur, so now you can make your subject the hero. For those wriggly babies, skateboarding and waterfall shots, the Pixel camera helps make your subject the focus. It can unblur a face to make it sharper. And with Portrait Mode and Motion Mode, you can artfully blur out the background.
Tensor also enables Google’s best speech recognition in a smartphone with Live Translate and Assistant Voice Typing.
What’s new with the camera?
This is Pixel’s best and most advanced camera system yet - with Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro you can capture photos with greater accuracy, finer detail and richer colours. The main sensor captures 150% more light than Pixel 5.
Plus with exciting new features like Magic Eraser, you can make distractions in your photos disappear, with just a few taps in Google Photos.
What’s different with the new Material Design?
Material You is the next evolution of Material Design and represents the beginning of a radical change in design for Google and for the industry and — most importantly — for all users. With Material You, you can personalise the look and feel of your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro to make it truly yours. Users can experience designs that are personal for every style, accessible for every need, and adaptive for every screen.
So the Pixel 6 phones are set to have changes or improvements in just about every bit of the Google phone – from the chip that powers it and the AI and machine learning that help improve your experience in the background to the camera you use and what your day-to-day experience of using your phone is actually like.
