More choice for Moree: Optus switches on fast 5G, boosting connectivity for one of Australia's leading agricultural hubs

• Moree now connected to the Optus 5G network
• Moree is part of more than 100 network upgrades completed across regional NSW in the past year

Moree, 23 September 2026: Moree residents, businesses and visitors can now access Optus 5G, with the network upgrade delivering faster mobile speeds and enhanced connectivity.

The upgrade is part of Optus' continued investment in regional Australia, with Moree among more than 100 locations upgraded across regional NSW in the past 12 months. A further 100 NSW upgrades are planned by the end of 2027*.

As a major regional centre servicing communities across north-west NSW, Moree plays an important role in supporting agriculture, local business, education, healthcare and tourism. The upgrade to 5G will help meet growing demand for mobile connectivity, supporting everything from staying in touch with family and friends to accessing online services and running businesses on the go.

Optus is continuing to invest in the connectivity that underpins Australia's digital future. The Optus 5G network now reaches 94.5% of the population across more than 6,000 sites nationally. In regional Australia, the pace of 5G upgrades has increased by 82% in just 16 months, with 2,444 regional sites expected to be upgraded by 2030.
