Optus awarded title of ‘Australia’s Fastest 5G Mobile Network’
Optus 5G has raced to the top of the speed leader board after officially being awarded the coveted title of ‘Australia’s fastest 5G Mobile Network’ by independent benchmarking company Ookla® the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis.
Users in Australia tested their 5G speeds with Speedtest®, Ookla®'s flagship network testing platform. The tests measured 5G mobile speeds from all 5G network providers in Australia for the two quarters of 2021, with data showing Optus achieving median download speeds of 323.94 Mbps *
Ookla® analysed over 330,000 user-initiated 5G Speedtest ® results in the first half of the year to determine which carrier showed the fastest network speeds, with Optus taking out top spot overall as well as scoring the best latency result of 18 milliseconds.
