Optus has switched on new towers in Popanyinning and Cuballing, strengthening Optus’ services in the Southern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.

With more people travelling across the state, the new Optus sites will provide improved coverage and capacity to those driving along the Great Southern Highway, the primary thoroughfare for the Southern Wheatbelt region.

Optus Territory General Manager for Western Australia, Paul O’Neill, is thrilled to be providing improved mobile coverage in the region.

“We’re proud to be capturing the full potential of the digital economy and strengthening connectivity across the Wheatbelt region to allow our customers to do more of the things they love, in more places.

“We are continuing to expand our footprint across regional WA and in particular, the Wheatbelt region, to help people on the go who are relying on mobile services to stay connected and have access to a reliable network whether for work, education or to connect with the ones they love.

“As we roll out our best network ever, we know that customers want faster download speeds and reliable connectivity whether they are, home or on the go.

“Not only do our new towers in Popanyinning and Cuballing deliver improved 4G mobile connectivity, coverage and capacity, but they also provide competition and choice for local businesses and residents by offering a world class network at a great value,” added Paul.

Optus has recently confirmed that it will be boosting connectivity across regional WA and funding 75% of a connectivity project alongside the WA government. The funding will see 4G connectivity for residents and visitors travelling through key locations in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Midwest and Goldfields and further strengthen Optus’ footprint across regional WA.
