Optus has officially opened its latest store in Mudgee, creating four local jobs and announcing a mobile network investment of $500,000.
Optus’ Vice President of Retail, Frances Martin said Optus’ investment in the Mudgee community is vital to providing a stronger mobile network and an improved customer experience.
“We are excited to open a Yes Optus store here in Mudgee which has created four local jobs,” Ms Martin said.
“This new store offers the latest gadgets, gizmos and products with our friendly staff on hand to provide advice on the best plans to suit the needs of customers.”
The specially designed store allows consumers to touch, feel and try the latest technology including Smart Home devices, Smart Switches and the recently launched Google Home.
Optus today also announced a $500,000 investment in the mobile network to build a new site to improve coverage in the Mudgee CBD.
Work to build the new site is expected to start in the next 12 months.
Today’s announcement forms part of Optus’ $1 billion commitment to improve mobile coverage and services where people live, work and travel.
The Optus network handles over 45 million calls and 80 million SMS messages each day and carries 6,000 terabytes of data each week. Optus is continuing to expand and strengthen its network to deliver improved data and voice services across metropolitan, regional and remote locations nationally.
