OPTUS OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR 2018 GRADUATE RECRUITMENT PROGRAM

Applications are now open for Optus’ graduate recruitment program, with more than 40 positions available in Marketing, Finance, Accounting, IT, Networks, Telecommunications Engineering, Engineering and Human Resources.

The two-year program offers graduates experience in up to four different roles across the business, as well as training in a chosen discipline, and training on key skills such as project management and conflict resolution.

Applications are open until 1 July 2017 for roles commencing in April 2018.

Vaughan Paul, Vice President of Human Resources at Optus, said, “Optus recognises that success in the workplace requires more than just academic results alone, so we’re looking for graduates with confidence, enthusiasm, problem-solving abilities, and great communication skills to join our team.”

“Graduates will have the opportunity to develop their personal, professional and leadership capabilities with mentoring from senior leaders; training on key skills; and the opportunity to apply for an international secondment across the Singtel Group.

“Our graduate program enables us to recruit future leaders and is a key talent pipeline for our business – more than 70 per cent of graduates stay with Optus for more than five years.”

Serena Reid, Graduate at Optus, said, “Since joining the graduate program in 2016 I have been placed in sales, strategy and project management roles in the Optus Business division.”

“In these roles I have had the opportunity to work across a number of corporate and government client accounts and was recently accepted to do a two-month rotation in Singapore.

“These diverse experiences have enabled me to discover my passions – in particular sales – and moving throughout the business has given me a strong network of contacts,” Ms Reid said.

Optus’ 2018 Graduate Program is open to 2015, 2016 and 2017 university graduates who have a minimum credit average and can demonstrate a range of skills including communication, confidence, enthusiasm, problem-solving abilities and community involvement.
