CYCLONE DEBBIE - NETWORK UPDATE - 9.30 AM QUEENSLAND TIME/ 10.30 AM SYDNEY TIME

An update on the impact to Optus' mobile network in Queensland as a result of Cyclone Debbie.

An Optus spokesperson said:

As of 9.30 am (AEST) today, there remains some localised impact to Optus’ mobile network in Queensland as a result of Cyclone Debbie.

As a result of power failures there are currently no Optus mobile voice or data services in Ayr, Bowen, Airlie Beach, Proserpine, Mackay, Hamilton Island, Daydream Island, Sarina, Clairview, Dingo Beach and Moranbah.

We are working closely with the relevant emergency services, and power authorities to enable quick and safe access to restricted areas. Where possible, we will deploy portable generators to restore services as quickly as possible.
