As of 9.45am (AEST) today, there remains some localised impact to the Optus mobile and fixed networks in Queensland.
Network Update
Optus engineers continue to closely monitor the network to minimise impacts on our customers.
We are working closely with the relevant authorities to enable quick and safe access to restricted areas. Where possible, Optus is responding to power outages by deploying back-up generators. Optus has deployed a satellite cell into the affected region to expand mobile services.
Support for Affected Communities
Optus stores in Yeppoon, Gracemere and Rockhampton have now reopened.
Optus is distributing pre-paid SIMs and satellite loan phones for residents of Yeppoon who no longer have access to telecommunications services.
The Red Cross is also distributing Optus pre-paid SIMs in Rockhampton and Yeppoon.
