CYCLONE MARCIA - NETWORK UPDATE - 4.00 PM QUEENSLAND TIME

As of 4.00 pm (AEST) today, there has been localised impact to the Optus mobile and fixed networks in some cyclone affected areas of Queensland.

Due to major power failures there are disruptions to Optus mobile coverage in South Brisbane, Sunshine South, Double Island Point, Rockhampton and Yeppoon.

There is currently no Optus mobile service between The Caves and Marlborough, and between Comet and Mt Hopeful.

There are also disruptions to Optus’ fixed voice and broadband services in Rockhampton and Mackay due to power outages.

Optus continues to monitor the situation closely and will deploy backup generators as soon as Emergency Services allow us to access the affected sites.
