Switch to Optus and you could get up to $450 credit
Optus is changing the rules once again with an Australian first by giving customers up to $450 credit towards early exit fees and phone trade in when they switch to Optus.
Want a brand new smartphone now? There’s no need to wait, thanks to Optus. We’re offering customers $200 credit towards their early exit fees and up to $250 credit to trade in their old smartphone. So they can get their hands on the latest, shiniest new smartphone now.
Vicki Brady, Managing Director, Customer, Optus, said, “We know there are over 1.2 million Australians who are coming off their mobile phone contract in the next four months[1]. Customers tell us that one of the main reasons they want to get out of their mobile contract early is to upgrade to a new phone. Early exit fees shouldn’t be a barrier to getting that new smartphone now.”
Don’t wait, get what you want now
Optus is making it easy to switch by giving consumers up to $450 credit in three simple steps:
For example, a consumer who signed up to a 24 month plan in December 2012 would have to wait another three months until December 2014 to upgrade to a new smartphone. Thanks to Optus’ switch offer, they can escape early.
Already with Optus? Thanks for your loyalty!
Customers who are within the last three months of their Optus contract can upgrade early to get a new smartphone too. We’ll waive their early cancellation fees and they could get up to $250 to trade in their old phone.
“Why should new customers get all the best offers? Optus is giving the same opportunity to our existing customers to make sure they stay with us,” said Ms Brady.
Icing on the cake – even more data to share across your devices
Looking for one more sweetener? We’ve beefed up the data inclusions on our $80 and $100 My Plan Plus plans. Now customers can get a huge 5GB of data on our $80 plan and a massive 8GB on our $100 plan.
“We’re fighting to give consumers a better deal by offering more choice in a market that has typically made it difficult for people to leave their mobile phone contracts early. Plus, when they come to Optus, they’ll get even more data on our $80 and $100 plans. There’s never been a better time to switch to Optus,” said Ms Brady.
With Optus’ data sharing plans, customers can share their phone’s data with up to five additional mobile broadband devices, like a SIM-ready tablet, pocket Wi-Fi or USB modem. There’s no ongoing cost, just a one-off $5 set-up fee per device. And they’ll be on the awesome Optus network that covers 98.5% of the Australian population.
This offer is available from 8 September to 2 November 2014, so get in quick. Check out all the details here: www.optus.com.au/switch.
