New prepaid plans from as little as $1 a day
At Optus, we know that some days you use your mobile phone and some days you don’t. So we think you should only pay for the days you do use your phone, and when you do, you should get amazing value. Today, Optus has launched My Prepaid Daily and My Prepaid Daily Plus to suit customers’ daily needs.
Don’t use, don’t pay*
Optus’ new Prepaid Daily plans offer two simple options based on light or heavy use. My Prepaid Daily gives customers the freedom to pay only for the days they use their phones and awesome value when they do. Starting from just $1, customers get a generous allowance of standard, national calls, text and data, and they’ll be automatically bumped up when they use more. For heavy data users, My Prepaid Daily Plus offers massive value. For just $2 a day, customers get unlimited standard national calls and text and an enormous 500MB of data. Plus, they’ll be automatically bumped up if they use more data.
“With Optus’ new Prepaid Daily plans, you only have to think about the next 24 hours. We’re giving customers the freedom to decide how they use their credit, based on their usage. Every day is a new day – if you don’t use, you don’t pay,” said Ben White, Vice President, Mobile Marketing, Optus.
Prepaid remade
“Customers tell us that they want long credit expiry and they hate wasting credit. So we’ve taken the best of our old prepaid plans and launched these new daily plans with great value,” said Mr White.
Like to budget monthly?
While some customers love the freedom of a daily plan, others prefer to budget monthly. My Prepaid Monthly offers recharge options of $30, $45 and $60 for calls, text and data that last for 30 days.
“We’ve revamped our monthly prepaid plans to make them simple and easy to understand. Plus, for recharges from $45, customers get unlimited standard national calls and lots of data,” said Mr White.

With a network covering 98.5% of the Australian population, Optus customers can rely on robust mobile internet and call quality. Optus’ focus is to provide strong coverage and capacity for a great 4G mobile customer experience, with the best mix of spectrums, technologies and plans. My Prepaid Daily, My Prepaid Daily Plus and My Prepaid Monthly are available from 11 August.
Notes to editors:
*Today’s smartphones are always connected to the internet and can download mobile and app updates in the background. So even when you don’t think you’re using data on My Prepaid Daily, you may be charged from your credit. If you don’t want to trigger a day and use up some credit because of your data, it’s a really easy fix. Simply check the settings on your phone and make sure you turn off your mobile data on the days you don’t use your phone. To find out more about data usage head to www.optus.com.au/datatips.
