TROPICAL CYCLONE ITA - OPTUS UPDATE 14TH APRIL, 2014, 10.00 AM

Further update on our network status in the areas impacted by Tropical Cyclone Ita -

• Due to local power outages related to Cyclone Ita, we currently have seven mobile sites down in North Queensland.
• The mobile sites impacted are in Mossman, Rollingstone, Cooktown, Shute Harbour, Hamilton Island, Daydream Island, Turtle Beach and Wonga.
• We’re unable access some of these sites to install temporary power due to the current weather conditions, but we are ready to deploy generators to the sites as soon as the relevant authorities advise it is safe to do so.
• Optus’ network operations team will continue to liaise with emergency services and the relevant authorities, and closely monitor the cyclone situation throughout today.
