David Epstein, Vice President of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at Optus said, “When we launched Optus 4G in Adelaide just before Christmas, we wanted to delight customers unwrapping 4G smartphones and tablets with a taste of the fantastic speeds that Optus 4G delivers.”
“Today we are pleased to announce that Optus 4G has been expanded to even more areas of the city. Together with our 3G upgrades, we’re continuing to delight customers from Gawler in the north, to McLaren Vale in the south – providing them with stronger 3G coverage and a better experience whether in the home or out and about.”
Over the next 24 months, Optus will add another 100 new mobile sites in Adelaide and its surrounds to deliver additional 4G and 3G coverage. Upgrades will also be conducted at more than 100 existing mobile sites to support 4G and 3G – boosting the depth of coverage for its customers.
“We made the promise earlier this year that we will be delivering some major initiatives that improve the coverage, speed and capacity of our 4G network, and enhance the strength and consistency of our 3G network,” David Epstein explained.
“We’re excited by the feedback from our Adelaide customers, who are already noticing the improvements of the enhanced Optus network. The work that we will be carrying out over the next 24 months ensures that customers can continue to enjoy a fast, reliable mobile service that provides more choice and competition in a 4G world.”
