OPTUS MAPS OUT AUSTRALIA-WIDE DINING DEALS WITH GO PLACES

Optus today launched Go Places, a new mobile phone application for Optus customers featuring electronic vouchers, valid for 20 per cent off from thousands of restaurants who are part of Frequent Values™ by Entertainment™. The app also includes restaurant listings, reviews and ratings, bookings, travel directions including turn-by-turn navigation and more in the one convenient service to complete the dining-out experience.

Optus Go Places not only provides services to make dining out more convenient but also introduces electronic vouchers valid for 20 per cent off to thousands of Australian restaurants. These vouchers will be redeemable simply by flashing the voucher displayed on a mobile device via the Go Places app, prior to requesting the bill. Best of all, you’ll also be able to use the offers as many times as you like at your favourite Go Places participating restaurants.

In looking for the perfect restaurant to satisfy a craving, diners need not search, book and get directions through a number of different avenues anymore as Optus Go Places aggregates all these needs into the one app. Hundreds of thousands of reviews to over 25,000 restaurants from Eatability, Australia’s most extensive dining guide, are at your service through Go Places. Once a restaurant has been settled upon, users can book either instantly through the app, powered by Dimmi or by directly calling the venue. Furthermore, users can launch GPS navigation from their location to the restaurant straight from Go Places, providing even more convenience.

"Smartphones are amongst the most treasured possessions for Australians and we've always got them by our side. The Go Places app is the perfect tool for organising a dinner out and connecting with friends on your mobile device, as well as getting a great deal to selected restaurants through the electronic vouchers," Mr Bryan said.

Optus Go Places will be free to download at launch via the respective app markets for Android, selected Nokia Symbian Touch and selected BlackBerry users while a version will be made available to iPhone users at a later date. Optus customers will not be charged for data usage when using the Go Places app.

Access to the electronic vouchers service will be available for a one-off fee of $39.99 for one year's access. Customers can also buy casual-use vouchers for $2.99 each, to be used within 24 hours of purchase, perfect if you are a less-frequent restaurant goer. No credit cards are necessary as the payment can be simply added to your mobile phone account when selecting a restaurant.
