Optus today announced improved mobile phone coverage in Heathcote and along the Northern and McIvor Highways.
Rob Parcell, Optus Director Victoria, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its GSM network in regional Victoria.
"The installation of the new mobile facilities has improved and extended mobile coverage throughout Heathcote and the surrounding districts, making it easier for customers to make mobile phone calls anywhere, anytime.
"Optus is continuing to boost network coverage in regional Victoria with the enhancement of coverage across regional areas including Stanhope, Rushworth, Kialla South and Shepparton Lookout.
"To date, Optus has invested over $401 million in its mobile network in Victoria with 1184 base stations, providing the best solution for people requiring reliable mobile coverage in regional Victoria," he said.
Cameron Mactier, Optus World Shepparton said, "The new mobile site in Heathcote and our Optus World store here in Shepparton, together with plans to upgrade coverage in Kialla, Shepparton North and Shepparton East, reinforces Optus' dedication to regional Victoria."
The coverage expansion is part of the Optus strategy to provide the largest GSM network on the east coast of Australia.
