OPTUS IMPROVES MOBILE COVERAGE IN THE RIVERINA

Optus has significantly improved its mobile coverage in the Riverina region following the installation of a new mobile tower at Mount Burra.

Allen Lew, Managing Director Optus Mobile, said Optus was focused on enhancing and extending its mobile coverage in regional towns and along important roadways.

"Optus is committed to improving highway coverage across the Riverina region.

"The objective of the new site at Mount Burra is to provide maximum coverage along the Old Gundagai Road toward Cootamundra, the Gundagai-Junee Road, and the Olympic Highway between Junee and Cootamundra.

"We are confident people living, working and travelling in the area will now enjoy good signal levels," Mr Lew said.

Optus World Wagga Wagga manager, Chris Horne, said the Mount Burra site would complement recent new coverage in Corobimilla, Corryong, Finley, Jerilderie, Tocumwal, Tumarumba, Warragoon, and West Wagga Wagga.

"Optus continues to enhance its coverage, and plans to upgrade its site at Uranquinty to improve coverage to Lake Albert, and also build new sites in Darlington Point, Galore, and Square Knob in coming months.

"Residents, business people and travellers in the Riverina now have a greater choice of GSM mobile network as a result of improved coverage," Mr Horne said.
