Optus today launched a Victorian-specific outdoor advertising campaign as part of its renewed commitment to the State.
Optus Victoria Director, Robert Parcell said the campaign is designed to increase awareness and bring to light the highlights of a quiet achiever.
"Optus has traditionally executed its advertising campaigns on a national basis, but we thought it was time for Victorians to know what Optus has contributed to the State.
"We want people to know Optus has been an established telecommunications company in Victoria for more than ten years and is truly dedicated to enhancing people's day-to-day lives through technology.
"We invest significantly in infrastructure and employ thousands of Victorians as part of our commitment to helping build Victoria into the ICT hub of Australia – and we felt it was time to let people know," Mr Parcell said.
The advertising campaign continues with Optus' trademark nature theme with a series of animals forming the letter 'V' before spelling out Victoria. In addition and for the first time, a new logo has been developed specific to Victoria, which says 'yes' Optus - We're In A Great State.
Mr Parcell said the M&C Saatchi-designed campaign will see Optus billboards posted in more than 30 key locations around Melbourne until March 2004 with a view to refresh the campaign for the remainder of the year.
