OPTUS BRINGS COMPETITION TO THE CENTRAL WEST

Residents and visitors to the Central West region in New South Wales have even more reasons to enjoy Optus mobile coverage following the recent addition of nine mobile base stations and the launch of new consumer mobile phone plans.

Local Optus representative in Central West, Darren Germon at Network Communications in Dubbo, said that its important that regional Australians have a choice.

"Having access to Optus' mobile network is good for the community and for business. My Network Communications store in Dubbo has seen an increase in enquires and sales since the new towers have been in operation.

"Locals now have another choice, Optus' new mobile plans, 'yes Optimiser' can help customers get more out of their mobile phone plans," Mr Germon said.

'yes Optimiser' is a suite of innovative consumer post-paid mobile phone plans. For the first time in Australia it will be possible to reduce the length of a mobile phone contract with a feature called 'Rollback'.

Optimiser combines several features to ensure customers get the most from their mobile phone plan:

  • Rollback - People who make more calls than those included in their plan can reduce the length of a 24 month contract;
  • Rollover - Customers who make less calls than those included in their plan will be able to roll over any unused credits so they have up to three months in which to use them;
  • Planscan - a periodic check of average usage that lets customers know if they would be better off switching to another Optimiser Plan;
  • 30 for 10 - a choice of four options including '30 for 10 day' where customers can call any fixed land line phone within Australia for just 30 cents for 10 minutes and '30 for 10 weekend' where they can call any phone within Australia from Midnight on Friday night to Midnight on Sunday night for 30 cents for 10 minutes. In addition to 30 for 10 day and weekend Optus continues to offer '30 for 10 at night' and Optus 'yes' time.

"Optus' coverage 'raises the bar' in the region with its high quality mobile products and services," Mr German said.
