OPTUS APPOINTS NEW CFO

Optus Chief Executive, Chris Anderson, today announced that Mr Pat O'Sullivan from Goodman Fielder New Zealand had been appointed as the company's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

"Pat O'Sullivan's appointment is the result of an international search for the best candidate. He will take up his appointment in June," Mr Anderson said.

Before being appointed Optus CFO, Mr O'Sullivan was the CFO of Goodman Fielder New Zealand, a position he held since January 2001.

Mr O'Sullivan also served as Acting CFO and Group Financial Controller at Goodman Fielder Limited. Prior to working at Goodman Fielder, Mr O'Sullivan held senior financial positions at Burns, Philp & Company Limited, and Price Waterhouse.

Mr Anderson also announced that Martin Dalgleish had been confirmed as Managing Director of the Consumer & Multimedia division.

And he confirmed that Optus Business will be reconfigured into separate retail and wholesale focused business units to better meet market needs.

Chris Hancock will take the newly-created position of Managing Director, Optus Wholesale.

A search will be conducted for the Managing Director of the retail business unit.

In the interim the retail business unit will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Paul O'Sullivan.
