CABLE & WIRELESS OPTUS NETWORKS TO PROVIDE FAST, FLEXIBLE TECHNICAL SUPPORT

In a move designed to improve business performance and speed to market, Cable & Wireless Optus has combined its IT and network operations functions into one group.

Dr Stephen Rotheram, Managing Director, Networks, said that moving the Group Technical and Systems & Programs Divisions into one Business Unit would provide improved accountability and simplicity while also improving delivery.

"Cable & Wireless Optus needs to move quickly to meet customers' needs. That is why we have established Optus Networks as a fast, flexible and customer driven business unit.

"This restructure will provide the technical leadership required while giving better, quicker support to the commercial arms of the organisation.

"Optus Networks will have fewer internal groups. This will mean fewer 'hand-offs' and will improve the time to market for new initiatives," Dr Rotheram said.
