OPTUS INTERNET INTRUSION

There was an unauthorised intrusion into the Optus Internet network earlier today. Optus views this intrusion as a serious issue and we are continuing to investigate.

Optus took immediate action on confirmation of the breach and informed the police. We have also informed customers via email and will continue to keep them updated.

Optus has seen no indication that customers' credit card records have been compromised. Optus maintains its customers' credit card records at a high level of encryption. Optus recommends that Optus Internet customers can improve their security by changing their passwords.
