NEW CEO FOR OPTUS@HOME

The former Seven Network chief, Mr Chris Chapman, was today appointed Chief Executive Officer of the new high speed cable modem service Optus @Home.

The Optus @Home service is to be delivered through a joint venture between Cable & Wireless Optus and Excite@Home, called At Home Network Australia.

Prior to accepting the position, Mr Chapman spent three years as Chief Executive Officer of Stadium Australia and 12 years with Seven Network Limited. During that time he held positions including Managing Director BTQ Channel Seven Brisbane, Managing Director ATN Channel Seven Sydney and finally Chief Operating Officer, Seven Network Limited.

In welcoming Mr Chapman to the joint venture Mr Anderson said, "Securing Chris to head up our joint venture is a major coup."

"He has a vast knowledge of the Australian media, broadcast and entertainment industries and we are delighted to be tapping into those skills. They will be vital in the new world of high speed, interactive media."

John O'Farrell, Senior Vice President International of Excite@Home said, "This new role provides Chris with a great opportunity to combine his broadcast background and general management skills in an exciting area, he has the knowledge and drive to grow Optus@Home and redefine what Australians expect from their ISPs."

Mr Chapman will join At Home Network Australia in late January.
