What is a phone plan?

Optus offers SIM plans and device payment plans. Our SIM plans are month-to-month plans which include talk, text and data allowances. You can generally move up or down price points once a month to choose the plan with the right amount of data, minutes of international calling or other features available.

Our device payment plan is a 12, 24 or 36 month contract that allows you to pay off your device over time.  Or you can purchase some devices outright. You need to purchase a SIM plan in order to be eligible for a device payment plan. If you end your SIM plan before the device payment plan contract period is up, you'll have to pay out the amount remaining on your phone payment plan.

Why should I buy my phone on an Optus plan?
