Setting your Work Schedule for Optus Loop with RingCentral

In this article, we'll discuss Setting your work schedule. Your work schedule determines how incoming calls are handled. By default, your schedule is set to 24/7 for all incoming calls. You can create a weekly schedule to handle calls differently depending on the day and time. 

You can set your schedule on the RingCentral App for desktop, web and mobile, or in the Admin Portal. 


Setting a work schedule in the desktop & web app
  1. Open RingCentral app on your desktop or web browser
  2. In the left navigation bar, click Settings > Phone
  3. Click Call rules and voicemail
  4. Click Add Rule
  5. Click After hours
  6. Confirm that your work hours are listed correctly, then click Next
  7. In How should incoming calls be routed during After hours? window, click Incoming calls dropdown to select how calls will be handled after-hours
    • Ring Devices: Calls will ring your apps and phones
    • Send to voicemail: Send missed calls directly to voicemail. Learn more about setting up your voicemail, click here
    • Forward the call: Forward the call to any extension or phone number
    • Play announcement: Play an announcement before ending the call
  8. Click Next to review your after-hours rule settings. Click Customise now to make changes
  9. Click Done   
Setting a work schedule in the mobile app
  1. Open RingCentral mobile app
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top left corner
  3. Tap Phone > Call rules and voicemail 
  4. Tap After Hours card. If you don't see the card, tap Add Rule > After hours
  5. Confirm that your work hours are listed correctly, then tap Next. If you don't see a schedule set, tap Add schedule
  6. In How should incoming calls be routed during After hours? window, tap Incoming calls dropdown to select how calls will be handled during after-hours
    • Ring devices: Calls will ring your apps and phones
    • Send to voicemail: Send missed calls directly to voicemail. Learn more about setting up your voicemail, click here
    • Forward the call: Forward the call to any extension or phone number
    • Play announcement: Play an announcement before ending the call
  7. Tap Next to review your after-hours rule settings. Tap Customise now to make changes
  8. Tap Done
Setting a work schedule as an admin in Admin Portal
  1. Go to Admin Portal and sign in
  2. In the top menu, click Users > Users with Extensions
  3. Click a name from the list of users
  4. Click User Details > Settings & Permissions
  5. Under Schedule, click Edit
  6. Click Specific schedule
  7. Turn the toggle on next to your workdays
  8. Set From and To times, or check the 24-hours box, for each day
  9. To copy the schedule to another day of the week, click Apply to, then choose the relevant day(s)
  10. Click Save
Setting a work schedule as a user in Admin Portal
  1. Go to Admin Portal and sign in
  2. Click the dropdown next to your profile in the upper right, then select My Extension
  3. Click Settings in the main menu
  4. Click the Phone dropdown
  5. Click Call rules and voicemail
  6. Click Add Rule
  7. Click After hours
  8. Confirm that your work hours are listed correctly, then click Next
    Note. If you don't have a work schedule, click Add Schedule to create one
  9. In How should incoming calls be routed during After hours? window, click Incoming calls dropdown to select how calls will be handled after-hours
    • Ring devices: Calls will ring your apps and phones
    • Send to voicemail: Send missed calls directly to voicemail. To learn more about setting up your voicemail, click here
    • Forward the call: Forward the call to any extension or phone number
    • Play announcement: Play an announcement before ending the call
  10. Click Next to review your after-hours rule settings. Click Customise now to make changes 
  11. Click Done
