No Dial Tone: NBN Troubleshooting
If you're unable to use your phone and you're connected on the NBN please try these troubleshooting steps. If we're unable to help you restore your phones' connection in this guide, then the steps will provide info on how to report the problem to us.
Step 1 - Is your NBN broadband service still working?
- Yes - Continue to the next step
- No - Follow the troubleshooting steps in Can't Connect to Internet: NBN Troubleshooting
Step 2 - Restart your NBN Modem
Remove the power cable from the back of your modem for 60 seconds, then plug it back in. After approximately 2 minutes the lights on the modem should settle into a stable pattern
Step 3 - Check your phone
At times the wiring may be what is causing your issues. Plug your phone directly into your modem's telephone ports to eliminate your internal wiring
