How to Cancel Optus Internet Security

To uninstall Optus Internet Security, simply follow the below steps.

Please note that Optus Internet Security is no longer offered to new or existing customers.

Step 1 - Uninstalling the Software From Your Computer

For Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

  1. Click the 'Start' button
  2. Click 'Control Panel'
  3. Click 'Programs'
  4. Click 'Programs and Features'
  5. Select 'Optus Security' and click 'Uninstall'
  6. Restart your computer

For Windows XP

  1. Click 'Start'
  2. Click 'Control Panel'
  3. Double-click 'Add or Remove Programs'
  4. Select 'Optus Security' and click 'Remove'

For OS-X

  1. In the Finder, Go to your 'Applications' folder
  2. Drag the 'Optus Security' app to your Trash
  3. You may need to stop the 'Optus Security' from running before deletion
  4. Empty the trash
  5. Restart your computer

Step 2 - Cancelling Your Subscription

For 'Optus Security' (2013) - Software downloaded after 25th March, 2013

Cancel the subscription in My Account

  1. Log in to My Account
  2. In the left hand  'My Services' list, select the Broadband/Mobile service your Optus Security subscription is linked to.
  3. Click the 'Options & Extras' tab
  4. Scroll to and click 'Manage Add-ons'
  5. Access the 'Optus Security' option and click 'Cancel'

For 'Optus Internet Security Suite' (2010/11) - Software downloaded before 25th March, 2013

Cancel the subscription in Member Services

  1. Log in to security suite in Member Services
  2. Click 'Unsubscribe from Security Suite'
  3. Click 'Yes' to confirm that you wish to proceed
