By accepting the benefits of this bundled offer, the connection date for your phone that you agree to will likely be longer than the maximum timeframe in the Customer Service Guarantee (CSG). Apart from this, any other rights you have under the CSG still apply. For more information, see optus.com.au/yourCSG

FAIR GO POLICY APPLIES. Available in selected premises in selected areas.

The Nitty Gritty

Minimum Total Cost includes payment by direct debit. Installation fees may apply if you request a technician installation where a self-install option is available. If you change plans during your contract term to a plan of lower value, an Early Recontract Fee of $80 applies and you must start a new 24-month contract. Month to month customers may change their plan with no fee. Plan pricing will differ if your service is connected outside of Optus network areas. Unlimited Calls to standard national numbers excludes special numbers such as 13/1300 numbers, premium numbers (e.g. 1900 numbers), 1234, 12456 and calls to satellite numbers. Calls charged in one-minute increments. You must preselect Optus as both your local and long-distance carrier.

$10 Bundle Discount: One $10 monthly discount applies per eligible broadband and postpaid mobile bundle. If you cease your eligible mobile plan, the $10 bundle discount will be removed without notice. Not available in conjunction with any other discount offer. For existing customers any existing bundle discounts including the $10 mobile discount will be removed when taking up this offer. The broadband and mobile services must be in the same name and same billing address or when possible should in the same customer ID to be eligible for the $10 bundle discount.
Exception: Home Wireless Broadband services are not eligible for the $10 bundle discount.

General: Offer available to credit approved customers.

Non-direct debit fee: A $2.20 fee will be charged each month if you choose not to pay your bill by direct debit. To set-up direct debit go to optus.com.au/myaccount
Exception: For payments made by credit, debit, charge or prepaid cards, the non-direct debit fee will not apply.

Payment processing fee: If you pay by BPay savings or direct debit from a bank account or credit card, there are no processing fees. A processing fee applies to non-direct debit payments made by credit or charge card and/or if you pay at Australia Post. For details go to optus.com.au/payments.

Paper invoice fee: A $2.20 paper invoice fee will be charged each month if you choose to receive a paper bill. For online billing or to request an email bill go to optus.com.au/myaccount

International call rates: can be found at optus.com.au/worldsaver. Other rates are available at optus.com.au/standardagreements. Available to eligible residential customers who connect the services in the same name and address to the Optus DSL Direct, Optus Cable or Optus NBN networks. You must pre-select Optus as both your local and long distance carrier.

Cancellation: If you cancel any or all services within the committed term, you may be charged a cancellation fee. Any remaining Optus services will be moved to the closest alternative of our standard plans.

Serviceability: Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee connection until we successfully install your service. We do not offer Priority Assistance. A provider who does is Telstra. Important Information for Cable & nbnTM Customers: Equipment supplied requires mains power, which may not be suitable if you have a serious illness or condition, require disability services, have a back-to-back alarm, or require an uninterrupted telephone line. If this is the case, contact us and we’ll help you find an alternative solution.

Fetch: Fetch use requires an active fixed broadband internet connection with a download speed of at least 3Mbps, a widescreen TV and free-to-air TV service with an external antenna connection. Optus recommends that new or existing customers who use Fetch Mighty/Gen2 should connect to the Optus Ultra Entertainment Plan, or the Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment Plan. Fetch is for personal viewing only and should not be used for commercial use.

If the line speed, for customers on the Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment plan, does not support streaming on Fetch they can move to the Optus Reach Ultra plan without paying a downgrade fee or cancel their Optus broadband service with no cancellation fee.

If you are purchasing an Optus broadband service with Fetch included, delivery of the set top box can take longer than the activation of the internet service. New customers will receive a device when they select the Optus Ultra Entertainment or the Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment. Existing customers signing up to the Optus Ultra Entertainment or the Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment who already have a Gen2/3 box may keep their Gen2/3 box or existing customers with a Fetch Gen2 can upgrade to the Fetch (Gen 3) Mighty device (fees may apply). Buying content gives you a non-transferable right to use that content, provided you maintain your Fetch service.

Speed & Video Quality: Many factors affect speed and video quality such as internet traffic, your line condition, your hardware and software, the data source or destination, your location and the number of simultaneous video streams or other downloads you have running over your connection.

Fetch set top box: Optus owns the set top box, and you must return it following cancellation of the service. Fees apply for late return or damage to the set top box. You may only use the recording functionality of the service for viewing programmes at your nominated home address at a more convenient time.

Fetch Multiroom: services available to new or existing Fixed broadband customers on selected plans in selected homes only. Fetch requires an active fixed Internet connection and download speed of at least 3Mbps and external TV antenna connection. Data charges may apply from Internet service provider. Maximum three devices per household. Content subscription required. Video content quality can be affected by equipment content location, network congestion.

Data usage: If you connect your Fetch set-top box to an Optus Home Broadband service, data usage generated by Netflix, Stan, purchase and/or download of content will be zero-rated.

Other data usage such as downloads and uploads associated with software updates, applications, games or the downloading of content via Free-To-Air catch up services and YouTube will not be zero-rated. This may result in your broadband service being throttled if you are very close to your data limit.

If you connect your Fetch set-top box to any other broadband service apart from an Optus fixed broadband service, all data usage will be charged, and those charges will depend on your broadband service provider and plan.

Fetch Channels: All channel packs are month to month and can be added or removed via the set top box. Billing for channels is taken in advance for 1 month. No refunds if cancelling or changing within billing period. Access remains active for deselected channel packs until end of billing period.

Calling bolt ons and speed: Calling bolt ons and speed packs are month to month and can be changed at any time. Changes to service will take place 24-48 hours after the change is requested. Charges for the bolt-on will be pro-rated so customers will only be charged until the date it is cancelled and they may receive a prorated credit for any amounts paid in advance.

Optus Sport: Personal viewing in Australia only. Content and features vary by device and sport. Sport coverage is available as long as you remain on an eligible plan and Optus has the rights. Optus Sport is a month-to-month subscription, which will continue until you cancel your subscription, or you move to an ineligible plan. Where your plan includes Optus Sport at no additional cost, your bill will show a $15 charge and corresponding credit.

NBN Service Transfer

MOVING YOUR SERVICE OVER TO OPTUS

When you transfer to Optus, you might be charged a cancellation fee or other charges from your current service provider.

Your service provider will continue providing your service until the transfer is complete, although you may experience a small outage during transfer. Once your transfer’s complete, you should contact your provider to make sure your account has been closed.

If you are transferring from a bundled telephone and broadband service, to a broadband only service, your telephone service will be cancelled and the number may be quarantined.

Any faults on the service with your current provider will be closed as part of the transfer process.

If you need any customer support or help with faults at any time before your phone service is transferred to Optus you’ll need to contact your current phone company.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if the network doesn’t deliver the speeds required for TV add-ons with Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment?
  • How do I know if I can get Optus broadband at my place?

Select "Check Availability" on any of the plans to see what is available for your address.

  • What type of broadband will I get at my house: ADSL2+, Cable or nbn™?

You'll be connected to the nbn™ if it's available in your area. Otherwise, you'll be connected to Cable or ADSL2+, as long as that's available where you are. Choose "Check Availability" on any of the plans to see what's available at your place.
Learn more about Optus nbn™ broadband.

  • Can I transfer my existing phone number to Optus?

You can transfer your number in most cases, as long as you are staying in the same local area. Transferring your number can take up to 10 business days. Just make sure you don't cancel your service with your current provider until the transfer is complete.

  • Is Fetch unmetered on an Optus broadband plan?

If you connect your Fetch set top box to an Optus Home Broadband service, any data usage generated by purchase (including the download of content) will be zero-rated. Other data usage such as downloads and uploads associated with software updates, applications, games or the downloading of content via free-to-air television catch-up services will not be zero-rated.

  • I’m migrating from the Optus Cable network go the new plans on the NBN, will my speeds be the same?

Not necessarily, it depends on the plan you’re on and the plan and options you choose on the NBN, as well as the line speed capability. The default speed on our new Optus Ultra and Optus Ultra Entertainment plans have the same theoretical maximum download speed and a higher theoretical maximum upload speed than on our Optus Cable network, but many factors affect speed. Even though the NBN plan is theoretically faster than the cable plan you’re on, it could be that the HFC network in your area is less utilised and therefore could run faster at certain times of the day.

Predicting speed is difficult before the connection is installed and you won’t know until you’ve moved whether the speed will be faster or slower.

  • What if the network doesn’t deliver the speeds required for TV add-ons with Optus Reach Ultra Entertainment?

If the line speed at your premises is not sufficient to use the Fetch product you will be able to return the box and downgrade your plan or cancel your plan with no cancellation fees.

e check for service viability during the sales process however we don’t always have enough information to know the networks speeds prior to the connection being established.

  • I’m currently receiving a $20.00 discount on my existing plan; can I keep this discount and switch to the new plan?

Unfortunately, not. On this plan family, only the $10 bundle discount is applicable if you are an eligible Optus Mobile customer.

  • I already have a Fetch Mini I’m paying $10 a month for and I don’t need another one. Can you discount the mini to $5.00 a month if I sign up to the Optus Ultra ($65/$75 plan) broadband bundle?

If you already have a Fetch Mini with another Optus service, you can transfer it to your Optus Ultra ($65/$75 plan) broadband bundle service and you will be able to use the same Fetch Mini for $5/month. Please note, if the Fetch Mini is part of a Multi-room setup with another service, you will not be able to use the Fetch Mini as part of that Multi-room setup instead it will be a standalone service instead.

Also evaluate the decision to transfer your Fetch Mini based on which case is applicable to you:

    1. If your current fixed service has no Fetch STB included in the plan: You will benefit as you would be currently paying $10/month. Example moving from a $90 Phone and Broadband bundle paying $10 for a Fetch Mini you will get the $5 discount when changing plans (a rare scenario)
    2. If the Fetch Mini is on your Mobile service: You will benefit if you are being currently paying $10/month if you transfer it to your fixed service.
    3. If your current fixed service has an Fetch STB included in the plan: If you had a Mini in your current fixed service, then this would be your second or third Fetch STB on your current service and you will be paying $10/mth for the Fetch Mini, so though you would only pay $5 for the Mini on the Optus Ultra you would have to an additional $15/mth if you want to retain your Fetch Mighty. Example: moving from an $80 plan with a Fetch Mighty and Fetch Mini STB to Optus Ultra though you would pay only $5 for the Fetch Mini (when you would have paid $10 for the Mini on the Optus $80 plan), you would need to pay $15 for the Fetch Mighty if you want to retain the mighty
  • Will Fetch, Netflix and Stan work better on the new nbn/hfc plans?

In theory it should, as the earlier plans were configured to speed pack 2 (nbn25) or Basic (hfc 30/2) on which you can stream Standard Definition, but the new plans are configured to speed pack 3 (nbn50) or Speed Boost (hfc 50/2) on which you can stream in High Definition (HD). The real difference will depend on the actual speeds on your line as many factors affect speed.
