Contactless Support in selected Victorian Stores

Another lockdown has just been announced, so here’s the list of Optus shops that’ve either gone contactless or closed in Victoria.
Whelp, here we are again, another snap lockdown in the great and safety-conscious state of Victoria.
And we know this latest lockdown must push one red-hot burning question to the front of your mind: Does this mean the footy is cancelled?
Unfortunately, we can’t answer that. But what we can tell you is which of our stores are switching over to a contactless service model and which are closing down for the length of the lockdown; two titbits of information that are nowhere near as exciting as the AFL season but are handy to know none-the-less.
This August, we introduced contactless support in some stores, while closing some other stores down temporarily. So if you’re looking for in-store support and you’re living in Victoria under lockdown, find the location within 10KMs of your home and give them a call.
So, before we waste any more of your lastminute lockdown prep, let’s dive in and look at the lists.
Contactless ‘call and collect’ stores
If you’ve dusted off your mask (unless it’s a dust mask, then keep it dusty we guess?) and have found the store within 10 KMs of your home, call the store to make an appointment, and you can calmly make your way to that Optus location for a feast of fantastic services including, but not limited to:
- Collecting your order (call and collect)
- Home delivery for some phone orders
- SIM swaps and replacements;
- Mobile faults and repairs;
- Broadband outage solution kits;
- Service transactions requiring sighting of your ID; and
- Support for domestic violence outside of the home.
…So, there’s still a little light at the end of the tunnel if you’d like to buy over the phone and pick up your order from us in person (it’s always nice to see your face, even if it is under a mask.)
If you’re looking for the same great Optus service you know and love and want to make an order over the phone, you can dial your way into the ears (you’re already in their hearts) of your local Optus Store employees to process sales over the phone and help organise a delivery.
The following stores will be operating with a contactless call and collect process, and some stores will be operating with revised trading hours for the lockdown period. We’ll keep you updated if the lockdown is extended.

Closed stores, open hearts
As much as we’d like to avoid it, we sometimes need to close up shop and ride through the restaurant-free flat patch with the rest of our Victorian brethren; praying to Cristiano Ronaldo that this really is just a speedy affair and we can get back to the face-to-face footy attendance we all know and love.
The following stores will regrettably be closed during the lockdown... but if you hurry, you still might be able to slide your streaming/Blu-ray box set recommendations under the door to us.
- Altona Gate
- Karingal
- Melbourne Airport
- Monash University
Don’t let the lockdown make you a stranger
Trust us, we’re right there with you wishing this thing will be over as soon as possible (we want to see The Demons play this weekend too), and so if you need to get in touch with us for any reason, don’t hesitate to message us, call us, or chat with us on the always handy My Optus app.
Try watching the Friends reunion and tell us which actor you think has aged the most gracefully (spoiler: it’s Tom Selleck).
Want to get in touch with us? Give us a call or message us.
