Optus' Economic Regulation team develops and drives competition policy on behalf of the company.
The objective of the team is to seek regulatory outcomes (in such areas as pricing, terms and conditions of service and the like) that contribute to the shareholder value of Optus.
The team predominantly focuses on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), which administer the competition aspect of telecommunications regulation under Part XIC and Part XIB of the Trade Practices Act. The team also interfaces with other regulatory bodies to the extent that their decisions impact competition policy.
Optus' submission to the Productivity Commission is available to the public.
