Watch Australian women’s football stars back on home soil, live and free on Optus Sport in Perth International Football Cup

Australians will see some of the biggest clubs and names in women’s football live and free on Optus Sport, when the Perth International Football Cup presented by Ninja, gets underway from next Wednesday 28 August.

The tournament features Barclays Women’s Super League sides West Ham United (home to Katrina Gorry), Manchester City (featuring Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy) and Leicester City (including Courtney Nevin) battle it out alongside French giants Paris Saint-Germain. 

Fans in Australia will be able to watch all four matches for free by simply creating an Optus Sport account.

Along with exclusive live coverage, Optus Sport will provide extensive on-demand options including highlights and mini matches for tournament. 

Head of Optus Sport, Howard Rees, said the tournament will provide a taste of what’s to come in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“Last year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup captured hearts and minds across Australia and we’re delighted to play our part in helping fans remain connected to the game. The Perth International Football Cup will be the perfect way for football fans to get ready for the Barclays Women’s Super League, which starts from Friday 20 September,” he said.

The Perth International Football Cup presented by Ninja kicks off at HBF Park next Wednesday 28 August with Manchester City taking on Leicester City before West Ham and PSG face off the following night at the same venue. 

Silverware will then be on the line on Sunday 1 September, when the winners and losers of those respective matches battle it out in back-to-back matches at HBF Park.
