And if your phone or tablet is lost or stolen you're also covered for any unauthorised use of your service up to $600 for the twelve hours prior to notifying Optus of the loss or theft.

Device Protect insurance can only be taken out at the time you purchase a new device from us – no matter if you buy it online, in store or over the phone.

When can Device Protect be purchased?

Device Protect can only be purchased at the point you buy your new device (mobile or a tablet) from us, whether you purchase online, in store or over the phone.

Am I protected from unauthorised use if my device is stolen?

Yes, you are covered for up to $600 of unauthorised use of your device in the 12 hours immediately prior to you notifying Optus of it being lost or stolen. It's a good idea to set a PIN code on your device to prevent anyone using it if it's lost or stolen.

Are my accessories covered as well?

Yes, accessories provided with the device are covered. However, wearable devices, “beats” headsets, SatSleeves and other accessories not provided with the device are not covered.

Is my device covered while travelling overseas?

Yes, your device is covered if it is lost, stolen or accidentally damaged while travelling internationally.

What is an excess fee?

An “excess fee” is an amount that you need to pay when making an insurance claim.

Do I need to pay more if I claim more than once?

You need to pay an excess fee of $100 for each damage claim or an excess of $200 for each lost or stolen claim.

How quickly will I get back on track if something goes wrong with my device?

Can I cancel Device Protect at any time?

Yes, you are able to cancel at any time.
 
 

The issuer of Optus Yes Cover is Optus Insurance Services Pty Ltd (ABN 12 005 711 928) for which Optus Mobile Pty Ltd (ABN 65 054 365 696) is acting as an authorised representative.

Your policy will start from the date you purchase insurance with your new device and you have a cooling off period of 19 days from this date, during which you may cancel your policy without paying any premiums if you have not made a claim.

We will provide you with the Combined Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide within 5 business days which contains the terms and conditions applying to your insurance policy.
