NBN with Optus: Who Owns the Equipment?

The information below explains who owns the NBN equipment once your installation is complete.


Who owns the installed equipment?

All cords and cables required for your NBN connection are supplied along with your equipment.

NBN Premises Connection Device 

This is owned by NBN Co. and is located outside your premises. It's used to connect your home to the fibre network.

NBN Fibre Wall Outlet

This is owned by NBN Co. and is located inside your premises. It's used to connect the inside of your home to the NBN Premises Connection Device.

NBN Network Termination Device (NTD)

This is owned by NBN Co. and is located inside your premises. It's used to connect your modem to the NBN Fibre Wall Outlet.
If you ever need to clean the Network Termination Device, please use a damp (not wet) antistatic cloth. Avoid the use of any chemicals or sprays as liquid can cause damage..

NBN Power Supply Unit

This is owned by NBN Co. and is located inside your premises. It used to connect your NBN Network Termination Device to power.

Optus Supplied Modem

This one's all yours and is located inside your premises. It's used to connect all your devices to the internet.
