The Fetch app is available for download from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Depending if you already have a Fetch service with a set top box, the app will work as either the Companion app (works with the set top box) or the Mobi app (works on its own). You'll just need your Fetch activation code as part of the set up process.

What is the Mobi App?

The Fetch Mobi app allows you to enjoy entertainment on the go without the need for a Fetch service at home.

You can:

  • Buy and rent movies from the Movie Store
  • Buy TV shows from the TV Store
  • Watch content from the Movie and TV Stores in Standard Definition
  • Watch Movie Box movies included with the subscription
  • Browse available content and watch trailers
  • Register up to 3 mobile devices at any time and the number of devices you can watch on varies depending on what you are watching
  • Switch registered playback devices, (this is limited to 2 a month and no more than 10 a year)
  • Watch selected entertainment channels included in the subscription

Excludes the following:

  • Korean pack
  • Pinoy pack
  • Sun South Indian pack
  • Optus Sport
  • The following channels within the Hindi pack – Star Plus, Star Gold, Life OK! & HUM TV
  • CNBC
  • ACCTV

Companion app

What is the Companion App?

The Fetch Companion app works with your existing Fetch set top box service. Features include:

  • The ability to manage your recordings remotely
  • Ability to reorder / reprioritise Series Tags
  • Manage your Multiroom remotely
  • While on the same WiFi network use your mobile as a remote for your Fetch
  • Manage your content from your mobile
  • You can watch Movie Box or Subscription TV on up to 2 mobiles or tablets at the same time, with a limit of 3 registered devices
  • Switch registered playback devices, (this is limited to 2 a month and no more than 10 a year)
  • Watch content purchased or subscribed to via your set top box or device

  • Optus Sport

How do I get the Companion App?

Download the Yes TV by Fetch app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. Then enter the activation code of your set top box followed by your PIN (Parental PIN). You can view any subscribed / purchased content on your device. Click here for further set up and user guide information.

Does the Fetch app count towards my mobile Data?

Data free Mobile TV streaming is available on selected Postpaid Mobile plans, which allows you to watch video content through the Fetch app without it counting towards your data allowance. Check out this page for more information on Data free Mobile TV streaming and eligibility.

If you do not have Mobile TV streaming as part of your Postpaid mobile plan then any usage on the mobile network will count towards your data allowance.

Purchasing / Renting Content

Android Users

You can buy or rent content directly through the app.

Some movies are available in both Standard and High Definition.

iOS users

You cannot buy or rent content directly through the app.

Instead follow these steps to purchase / rent content on iOS devices:

  1. From within the Fetch app, add the content you wish to purchase / rent to your wishlist

  2. Open a web browser e.g. Safari, Chrome

  3. Enter the URL https://www.fetchtv.com.au/yestv/#/signin (for future ease you can bookmark this page)

  4. Enter your activation code into the web page. This was sent previously to activate your Fetch service. If you're not sure where to find your activation code, select an option below:

    Go to Manage > Settings > Device Info > Options > Activation Code > Show Code
     

    Within your Home screen select Manage Account > Account > Show Activation Code > enter PIN
     

  5. Within the My Stuff section on the web page you’ll find any content added to your wishlist

  6. Select the content you want to purchase / rent and follow the prompts

FAQs

A. You do not need a Home Broadband subscription to access Fetch content. With an eligible Postpaid handset plan, you can access Fetch through the Mobi app directly on your phone.

A. It's the some app. The Mobi app is suitable if you do not want to purchase a Fetch device.

A. No, you can only subscribe to the Mobi app on a selected Postpaid Handset 24 Month Plan.  It is not available on BYO plans. Once subscribed to the Mobi app, you can download the app on up to 3 compatible devices including a Tablet device.

Prepaid is not eligible for the Mobi app service.

A. No. You can only get the Fetch Mobi app online (optus.com.au) when recontracting or getting a new service on an eligible plan.

A. Content that is rated MA15+ and R18+ is available via the app. You can set device specific parental controls using your PIN. This means you can secure your child’s device with access to G content only while you set a higher rating on your own device.

A. No it will not be automatically added. You’ll need to check the eligibility of your plan, and if required, enable data free Mobile TV streaming through My Account and the My Optus app.

A. You will need to activate Mobile TV streaming if you haven’t already on a plan which is eligible for data free streaming. This can be done through My Account, and clicking on the Entertainment tab to activate the offering or through My Optus app. Once data free streaming has been activated on the existing or new plan there will  be a delay, (usually only a few hours), before the data free streaming service is ready to go. You will receive a SMS or email from point of activation letting you know when you can start streaming data free. Any streaming done before receiving this notification won’t be data free.

A. No, data free Mobile TV streaming will only work on the service which has Mobile TV streaming added to its plan.

You can watch 2 concurrent streams of the Fetch Mobi app. It’s important to remember that the Fetch Mobi app is only available on 24 month Mobile handset plans but once subscribed you can download the Mobi app on your Tablet.
