Navigating & Using My Account
This article provides tips, tricks and visual examples on how to find your way around the desktop version of My Account.
To log in
Near the top right of the Optus website, as shown below.
About the 'keep me logged in' option
When you log into My Account, you've got the option to remain logged in by ticking the 'Keep me logged in' box. If you access or modify your personal details in My Account, we will ask you to log in again. By unticking this box, you will no longer remain logged in.
In order to prevent others from accessing your account, make sure you don't use this feature on shared / public devices or computers.
To log out
Click on your name, then select 'log-out' from the menu that appears.
Once you've logged into My Account the following 4 options become available. They each have various functions, as shown in the image below. 'Dashboard' is the option loaded when you first log in.
I'm logged in but cannot see these menus, why?
The most likely reason is that you've logged in via your service (phone) number or directly from your Mobile Broadband application instead of your My Account username. Logging in using these methods provides only limited access to My Account's functions.
The dashboard loads when you first log in. All of your linked services and accounts are available here at a glance.
- Scroll down to see your linked bills & account options (excluding Cable services)
- Scroll further down to see all of your linked services
- Click on a service to see its usage, options and plan details.
Scroll down and click on a service to see its' tabs and current usage info. The tabs allow you to check your plan, view current usage and add / remove features for each of your linked services. The info within each tab change with the service that's selected, details below.
Once you click on a service, its' panel will expand to reveal 4 function tabs:
- Service Summary: Here you'll find current usage status, plan info, Prepaid balances, usage period, etc.
- Usage Details: This tab shows individual calls, messages, data, and other usage transactions, etc.
- Settings: Configure diversions, voicemail, international roaming, edit usage alerts, etc.
- Options & Extras: Add /Remove value packs etc.
After clicking on a service, the following menu tabs will appear just below the service number/username. Click the Service Summary tab.
