Change how you're notified about new bills: My Account

From time to time Optus will send important information to your mobile such as bill/usage alerts, My Account passwords resets etc. To change the receiving mobile number and/or email address, follow these steps.

  1. Log in to My Account with your username, not your phone number
  2. From the menu at the top click 'Profile'
  3. Under the heading 'My Contact Details', click 'Edit' next to your email address or for SMS the 'Mobile to receive billing notifications'
  4. Enter your new email address / mobile number
  5. Confirm and click 'Submit'
  6. You will need to log out of My Account and log back in again for the change to take place

Change your primary service in My Account

If you've multiple services with Optus, you can change the service that loads first when you log in. This is known as your 'primary service'.

Please note: This feature differs to setting up primary and secondary email accounts. Find out more about those options here.

  1. Log in to My Account with your username, not your phone number
  2. From the menu at the top click 'Profile'
  3. Under the heading 'My Contact Details', click 'Change Service' next to your current 'Primary Service' and select another linked service
  4. You will need to log out of My Account and log back in again to see the change take place.

Switch between SMS or Email notifications from Optus

If you want to change how you receive information and special offers from Optus.

  1. Log in to My Account with your username, not your phone number
  2. From the menu at the top click 'Profile'
  3. Under the heading 'Communication to you from Optus', click 'Change'
  4. Switch between the 2 available communication methods & submit your request.

Change your secret questions or password for My Account

Secret questions and answers are used to help you retrieve a forgotten password. To change your secret questions or your password follow these steps:

  1. Log in to My Account with your username, not your phone number
  2. From the menu at the top click 'Profile'
  3. In the 'My Profile' page that loads, scroll down to 'My Account details', click 'Change...' next to the appropriate item
  4. Make your changes and submit.
