Selective Call Features

Optus offers Selective Call Features that allow you to reject, accept or divert specific calls while you're at home.

Please note: These features are not available with NBN services and are only available with selected Optus Cable & Optus Direct services.

 

Selective Call Reject

Selective Call Reject allows you to reject or block calls made to your phone number. The service allows you to add up to 30 numbers to a 'selective caller reject list'.

When callers on your 'reject list' dial your home phone number, they will hear a recorded voice announcement advising that 'calls are currently restricted to the number they are calling'.

 

Selective Call Accept

Selective Call Accept is a feature that allows you to choose the callers you want to talk to while you're at home.

The service allows you to add up to 30 numbers to your 'selective caller accept list'. Callers on your 'accept list' will ring on your home phone like a normal call.

Numbers not entered on your list will hear the recorded voice announcement advising that 'calls are currently restricted to the number they are calling'.

 

Selective Call Divert

Selective Call Divert is a feature that allows you to choose the calls you want to divert to another number.

The service allows you to add up to 30 numbers to your 'selective caller divert list' and these calls will be put through to the 'diverted number' of your choosing.

Calls not on your list will ring on your home phone like a normal call. For example, if you have voicemail active on your home phone, these calls will go through to the voicemail service.

If you use the Selective Call Divert feature you will also incur additional charges, for the cost of connecting the phone to a diverted number. This is charged at the standard Optus rate per call.


How do I activate/deactivate Selective call features?

Contact Fixed Phone enquiries on 133 937. Please note: Selective Call Features are not available to all customers. We'll confirm availability in your area.

Once, you've subscribed to the service all you need to do is:

  1. Decide which numbers you want to either accept, divert or reject
  2. Add the numbers to your 'selective list', (refer to Home Phone Features User Guide for instructions)
  3. Turn the feature on via your handset

You're able to add, remove or listen to the phone numbers on your 'selective list' as often as you like.
