Purchase a Mobile Phone, Tablet or Mobile Broadband service on a Plan

Important! If you're with another provider and want to transfer your service to us, your number must be in your name and the details you supply to us need to match those on file with your existing service provider. 

Simply follow these steps to order:

  1. Choose a device, plan & add-ons
  2. Provide your details
  3. Enter delivery info & submit
  4. Track your delivery

Choose a device, plan & add-ons

1. Go to the Mobile PhoneTablets or the Mobile Broadband section of our Online Shop

2. Select the device you want from our range. You’ll be presented with details of each handset and their associated plans

  • If you're new to Optus, click the 'Buy Now' button to get a new device and service from us
  • If you have an existing service and want a new device, click the 'Upgrade' button to purchase. This option allows you to keep your current number whether you have a Postpaid or Prepaid service

3. Choose any 'Add Ons', like extra data or insurance plans (where available)

4. A summary of your purchase will be presented to you in 'Your Shopping Cart'

5. Select to either 'Choose a new number' or 'Keep your existing number'

6. Read through the Terms & Conditions and select 'I agree' to proceed, then select 'Check Out'


Provide your details

1. Complete all fields in the 'Your details' 'Your Home Address' & 'Credit Check' sections, then click 'Continue'

2. If you’re getting a new number choose from the selection in the dropdown list


Enter delivery info & submit

1. Enter your delivery preferences and click 'Continue'

2. Check that the details entered are correct and click 'Submit Order'


Track your delivery

Your order should be delivered within 3 - 5 business days. If there's a problem with your order Optus will try to contact you.

Once your order is dispatched from the warehouse, you can track its progress by clicking here.

When your order arrives, it will contain details on how to set up your service. Please activate your service within 30 days.

Buy a Mobile Phone or a Tablet Outright

If you're in Australia and want to purchase mobile or a tablet for personal/ business use with no strings attached, then you're on the right track.

You can pay for your new device using:

Simply follow these steps to order:

  1. Choose a device
  2. Provide your details
  3. Review your order then select a payment option to complete your transaction
  4. Track your delivery

Choose a device

1. Go to http://offer.optus.com.au/buy-outright/landing/mobile

2. Select the device you want from our range and you’ll be presented with details of the handset

3. Click Add to Cart and a summary of your purchase will be presented in your Shopping Cart

4. Click Proceed to Checkout to continue with the order

Important! Returns or exchanges are not accepted for changes of mind, however if you need to speak to us about your delivery you can contact us on 1800 780 182.

Provide your details

Complete all fields in the 'Your personal details', 'Delivery address', and 'Billing address' then click Continue.

Orders will be sent to the address that you've provided online.


Review your order then select a payment option to complete your transaction

Be sure to check your order and confirm that the details entered are correct, then click 'Checkout'.

Select your preferred payment method:

  • AfterPay - You'll be redirected to the checkout with AfterPay
  • PayPal - You'll be redirected to PayPal website to complete the order

Remember! Orders which have been paid for using PayPal will be sent to the delivery address specified on PayPal.


Track Your Delivery

Your order should be delivered within 3 - 5 business days. If there's a problem with your order Optus will try to contact you.

More info on Afterpay

AfterPay is an online payment method that allows you to pay for your online purchases after receiving them.  When using AfterPay, you receive your product now, but payment will be automatically taken from your debit or credit card in four equal payments each fortnight.

The payment arrangement is made with AfterPay and they will approve payments at the time of the order.

  • If you've never used the service before the first payment is charged at the time of purchase, with payments over 6 weeks
  • If you're an existing AfterPay user, the first payment will be made in 14 days, with payments over 8 weeks
  • The full payment schedule is provided to you at the time of purchase

If you fail to make a payment, you will be charged a late payment fee of $10 and an incremental $7 late fee for each week the order is overdue.
