How to Check Your Fixed Broadband Usage

My Account can now be used to view your current Fixed Broadband usage, your last 3 months or your daily internet usage. Learn more by clicking a topic below.

Yes. Steps are available from here. However we're gradually moving everything into My Account so that you can manage your services in 1 place. To link your Broadband service to your existing My Account profile, click here.


How to view your monthly internet usage

To check your current month's internet usage and how it compares with your previous 3 months, log in to My Account and follow the steps shown via the button below. If you can't see your broadband service you may need to link it to your My Account profile.

How to view your internet usage in My Account

  1. Log in with your My Account username, not your phone number
  2. Follow steps A & B as shown in the image below

  3. Select your Broadband service to see your current usage & further service options

  4. In the 'Service summary tab', scroll down to see both your current and previous 3 months usage

How to view daily usage in My Account

  1. Log in with your My Account username, not your phone number
  2. Follow steps A & B as shown in the image below

How to view your usage period/plan inclusions in My Account

  1. Log in with your My Account username, not your phone number
  2. Follow steps A & B as shown in the image below

  4. Your plan's details and usage period / billing month are shown in the locations similar to those in the image below

Your plan's details

Your plan's charges, rates and inclusions are contained within the Critical Information Summary (CIS) next to your plan name, as shown in the image above. You'll need Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader to download and view your CIS. Please note: Some of our older plans may not have a CIS document

You can also go to our Critical Information Summary Site to view available CIS documents across all services.


How often is the usage meter updated?

The My Account usage meter is updated approximately every 15 minutes to 4 hours. The time and date of the last update is shown within the usage page. Occasionally a network event may cause delays to the update period.


When is peak and off peak data? ~ older plans only

Peak and off-peak times only apply to older plans and are as follows:

  • Peak time: 12:00 pm (midday) to 11:59:59 pm (midnight)
  • Off-peak time: 12:00:00 am (midnight) to 11:59:59 am (midday)

Why can't I see my broadband usage?

If you can't see your broadband service in the My Services list:

How to view your current broadband usage in Member Services

  1. Log in to Member Services (using your primary OptusNet username)
  2. From the left hand menu: Click 'My Internet Account' ~ Why can't I see this option?
  3. Then click 'My Usage'

  • A graph will display your data use for the current period

How to see your broadband usage history

  1. Log in to Member Services (using your primary OptusNet username)
  2. From the left hand menu: Click 'My Internet Account' ~ Why can't I see this option?
  3. Click 'My Usage', then 'Usage History'

  • A graph will display your data use for the previous 3 periods
  • A table will display your data use for the previous 6 periods

'My Internet Service' option not showing

Not using Primary Username?

The 'My Internet Service' menu option will only show if you've logged in using the account holder's 'Primary' username. If after logging in, you find that the option is not showing, it's possible you've logged in with a 'Secondary' username.

For privacy reasons, only the account holder using their primary username can access the usage/plan information and associated options within the 'My Internet Service' menu.
