I want to transfer my contacts from...

iPhone to iPhone

Using iCloud or iTunes

The easiest method is to log in to iCloud on your old device then perform a backup of your contacts, mail, reminders, etc.  Once the backup is complete; Log in to iCloud using the same Apple ID on your new iPhone and switch on contacts and anything else you'd like to restore etc.

To use iTunes instead or to see any of these steps in action, we recommend following this article on the Apple website.

Non-iPhone to iPhone: Using the same SIM Card

If your old device allows, export your address book/contacts to your SIM card and then import it via the iPhone's import contacts function, illustrated here. Otherwise use the steps in the next section to transfer your address book to your new iPhone.
