How to Get Your PUK Code

A PUK or 'Personal Unlocking Key' is a security feature on most mobile devices that protects your SIM card data. The PUK code is unique to your SIM card and is required when a SIM Card PIN code has been entered incorrectly multiple times.

Unlocking a SIM card with a PUK differs from Network Unlocking which allows a mobile device to be used with other mobile networks. If your IMEI number and device has been blocked due to a lost/stolen scenario please see this article instead for details.

How to get your PUK code?

You can find your PUK code in My Account.  If you need help locating your PUK code within My Account, follow the instructions below. 

Important: We're currently upgrading our billing systems, so if your account number starts with a 62:

  • Log in to My Account > My services > Manage > Your device's PUK code

For all other account numbers, you will need to:

  • Log in to My Account > Your services > Settings > View PUK

Once you have the PUK code, you'll need to enter it into your phone.  Refer to the information below on what to do.

Entering your PUK code into your device

Tip: If you incorrectly enter your PUK code 10 times, your SIM card will be automatically wiped and will need to be replaced.

Here's a guide on what to do:

  1. Enter the PUK code into your device

  2. Enter a new PIN into your device

  3. Verify your new PIN

  4. Your device should now be unlocked
