Step 2: Change your plan

You can change your plan via SMS. These options are free to use in Australia and available 24/7.

Using your mobile

Use Optus SMS Menu: Text 'MENU' to 9999 and follow the prompts.

Step 3: Confirm the change & recharge

  1. We'll send you an SMS once your plan change is complete
  2. You may need to recharge to start using your new plan
  3. You may need to switch your device off then on again, after recharging to update your SIM

Will I lose my existing credit?

If you’re moving between any Prepaid plans, you'll keep any MyCredit balance you have, but lose any other credit, minutes, SMS/ MMS, data or bonuses. So you don’t miss out on any of your inclusions, the best time to change your plan is when you’re out of credit, your credit is expired or is about to expire.
